LAHORE, July 21 (ABC): Jaada Schools has announced the second edition of its Azadi Futsal Cup 2026, aimed at promoting sports, healthy lifestyles and youth engagement as part of Pakistan’s Independence Day celebrations.
The tournament will be held in two phases in Lahore. The first leg will take place from July 30 to August 2 at the Jaada Schools Central Park Campus Football Stadium, while the second will be held from August 7 to 9 at the Jaada Schools Bahria Town Campus Futsal Ground.
More than 30 football clubs from across Lahore have registered for the competition, reflecting growing interest in competitive futsal among young athletes.
Each tournament will offer a cash prize of Rs50,000 to the winning team, while the runners-up will receive Rs20,000.
Speaking about the initiative, Jaada Schools Founder Usama Naseer said encouraging young people to spend more time on sports grounds was essential at a time when excessive screen use had become increasingly common.
“If we want to reduce screen addiction among the younger generation, we must create more opportunities for them to participate in sports and other healthy activities. Through the Azadi Futsal Cup, we aim not only to promote physical fitness but also to strengthen students’ connection with Pakistan and the values associated with Independence Day,” he said.
He said the tournament was designed to encourage teamwork, discipline and leadership while providing young athletes with a competitive platform to showcase their talent.
Jaada Schools said the Azadi Futsal Cup forms part of its broader vision of holistic education, where academic excellence is complemented by physical development, teamwork, leadership and character building through co-curricular activities.
