{"id":5851,"date":"2026-04-10T05:16:38","date_gmt":"2026-04-10T05:16:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailytimes.net.pk\/?p=5851"},"modified":"2026-04-10T05:16:38","modified_gmt":"2026-04-10T05:16:38","slug":"rs-85-5bn-spent-on-balochistan-road-projects-under-cpec-in-three-years","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailytimes.net.pk\/?p=5851","title":{"rendered":"Rs 85.5bn spent on Balochistan road projects under CPEC in three years"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>ISLAMABAD, Apr 10 (<a href=\"https:\/\/abc.net.pk\/rs85-5bn-spent-on-balochistan-road-projects-under-cpec-in-three-years\/\">ABC<\/a>): Nine major road projects in Balochistan under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) have so far utilized Rs 85.49 billion out of a total allocation of Rs 191.67 billion under the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) from 2022-23 to 2025-26, according to a document available with <a href=\"https:\/\/wealthpakistan.com.pk\/rs85-5bn-spent-on-balochistan-road-projects-under-cpec-in-three-years\/\">Wealth Pakistan<\/a>.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>These projects are in progress in the western zone of Balochistan, with varying levels of financial and physical advancement.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The Khuzdar\u2013Kuchlak N-25 (330 km) project accounts for the largest share, with Rs 60.6 billion allocated and Rs 28.98 billion spent so far. The Karachi\u2013Kararo &amp; Wadh\u2013Khuzdar N-25 (273 km) and Kararo\u2013Wadh and Kuchlak\u2013Chaman N-25 (187 km) projects have each been allocated Rs 33 billion, with expenditures of Rs 8.69 billion and Rs 7.67 billion, respectively.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The Awaran\u2013Naal M-8 (168 km) section shows notable progress, utilizing Rs19.01 billion out of an allocation of Rs23.03 billion, making it one of the most advanced projects in terms of spending.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The other ongoing schemes include Hoshab\u2013Awaran M-8 (146 km) with Rs 5.25 billion spent out of Rs 11.29 billion allocated, Nokundi\u2013Mashkel (103 km) with Rs 4.85 billion spent from Rs 7.36 billion, and Quetta Western Bypass N-25 (22.7 km), where Rs 3.27 billion has been utilized against an allocation of Rs 5.91 billion.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Similarly, the Basima\u2013Khuzdar N-30 (106 km) project has recorded expenditures of Rs 3.66 billion out of Rs 5.90 billion, while the Zhob\u2013Kuchlak N-50 (298 km) section has utilized Rs 4.11 billion from its Rs 11.58 billion allocation.<\/div>\n<div>These projects are crucial for enhancing connectivity in Balochistan, particularly along the western route, which is a key component of CPEC.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The improved road networks are expected to facilitate trade, reduce travel time, and promote economic integration of remote regions.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD, Apr 10 (ABC): Nine major road projects in Balochistan under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) have so far utilized Rs 85.49 billion out of a total allocation of Rs 191.67 billion under the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) from 2022-23 to 2025-26, according to a document available with Wealth Pakistan.
