Next phase of Islamabad Technopolis Project to cost Rs 1.54 billion

ISLAMABAD, Apr 7 (ABC): The Cabinet Division has sought Rs1,543 million for the next phase of the Islamabad Technopolis project under the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) 2026-27, signalling a renewed push to transform the capital into a hub of innovation and technology.
According to documents available with Wealth Pakistan, the total approved cost of the project is Rs1.98 billion, out of which Rs303.7 million had been utilized by June 30, 2025. Under the PSDP 2025-26, an amount of Rs138.28 million was earmarked for the project.
The project aims to provide state-of-the-art infrastructure, including a boundary wall, 132KV electrical transmission line, water supply transmission line, gas line, drainage culverts, and remodelling of drainage systems.
It also seeks to act as a catalyst for enhancing technology exports in Pakistan by encouraging high-tech and innovative solutions and fostering entrepreneurship.
The initiative focuses on transforming the economic outlook of Pakistan through the promotion of technology exports and by encouraging knowledge transfer from global technology hubs.
Furthermore, it intends to develop employment opportunities within the region at both national and international levels, create skilled and upskilled employment, enhance direct foreign investment, and ultimately contribute to raising the national income level.
If implemented effectively, the project will enhance the country’s global competitiveness and position it as a regional leader in technological innovation.
