Time to resolve Durand Line issue once and for all: Durrani

LAHORE, Feb 8 (APP): Senior politician and former federal minister Muhammad Ali Durrani has said that the time has come to resolve the Durand Line issue once and for all.

Talking to APP, Muhammad Ali Durrani condemned what he described as the Afghan government’s act of imposing war on Pakistan. He stated that the unjustified attack on Pakistan, allegedly carried out under the patronage of Israel and India, is not only an act of ingratitude but also un-Islamic and a blatant violation of international law.

He said that by taking this step, the Afghan government has effectively admitted to sponsoring terrorists. He further added that by launching an open war against Pakistan, the Afghan government has violated the Doha Agreement, and the guarantors of the agreement should hold Afghanistan accountable. He noted that a United Nations report has already indicted the Afghan government and warned the world that Afghanistan has become a hub for terrorists.

He said that the weapons left behind by U.S. forces in Afghanistan pose a serious threat to global peace and are also being used against Pakistan, which makes their elimination a pressing necessity. The international community, he added, should fully support Pakistan in eliminating these weapons.

Muhammad Ali Durrani paid tribute to the Pakistan Armed Forces for their strong retaliatory actions in defense of the country, stating that the armed forces have always played a responsible role in safeguarding national security as well as regional and global peace.

He further said that the Afghan government’s attack on Pakistan during the Indian Prime Minister’s visit to Israel is clear evidence that Israel, India, and the Afghan government are part of a troika pursuing the same agenda.

In view of the threats to national security and the prevailing situation of terrorism, he urged all political parties to set aside their differences, demonstrate complete unity, and ensure the protection of national interests with a unified national approach.
