Saudi ministry launches shuttle service for Hajj guests in Makkah

MAKKAH, May 22 (APP): The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance has launched a modern shuttle transport service in Makkah for guests arriving under the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Programme, aimed at facilitating their movement during the Hajj season.

According to the ministry, more than 50 transport trips are being operated daily to ensure smooth travel for pilgrims from their accommodation sites to the Grand Mosque.

The ministry said the service will operate around the clock and is intended to provide guests with a comfortable, safe and organised transportation system for performing Hajj rituals and attending prayers.

Officials said the initiative is part of the special services being provided during the Hajj season of 1447 AH. The project seeks to improve movement between pilgrims’ accommodation facilities and the central area surrounding the Grand Mosque.

The ministry stated that specially designed buses equipped with modern facilities have been deployed for the shuttle service. Different routes have also been developed in coordination with relevant authorities to maintain traffic flow and provide pilgrims with high-quality transportation, safety and comfort.

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs further said that administrative, guidance, awareness and other support services are also being continuously provided to guests under the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Programme.

The ministry said these efforts are intended to ensure a peaceful and spiritually enriching environment, allowing pilgrims to perform their Hajj rituals with ease and peace of mind.
