RIYADH, May 22 (APP): Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Interior has announced that individuals facilitating Hajj attempts without an official permit, including obtaining visit visas for unauthorized pilgrims entering Makkah or the holy sites, could face fines of up to SR100,000.
According to the ministry, the penalty will apply to anyone submitting an application for any type of visit visa on behalf of individuals attempting to perform Hajj without authorization or seeking entry into Makkah and the holy sites without proper permits.
The ministry clarified that fines will increase according to the number of individuals involved in the violation.
In a statement, officials said all citizens and residents must strictly comply with instructions and regulations issued during the Hajj season of 1447 AH to ensure the safety, security and comfort of pilgrims.
The ministry warned that legal action would be taken against anyone found violating the rules and regulations.
Saudi authorities also urged the public to immediately report Hajj-related violations to the relevant authorities.
According to the ministry, people in Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh and the Eastern Region can contact emergency services through 911, while those in other areas of the Kingdom can use 999.
